HI Oildoe. Another year another dollar. And another BIRTHDAY. So Happy Birthday. I would really like to know your analysis of the passage of the Jobs bill. It seems to protect the most egrgious of speculators with no independent accounting review.

So Happy Birtday to you and to my friends that have recently moved to Austin.

BTW, I an now an Omaholic.

The internet teaches social survival skills you just can't get anywhere else. In 1998 I found out what the internet was, at first I disregarded it's significance. Now looking back over 14 years (over 5000 days!) I could count on my fingers and toes the number of days I did not surf, or check in with my e-friends. I can't imagine what I would have done with ALL that time. No wonder people in the old days (pre about 2003) used to get married a second or third time. Like Mick Jagger sang, "they just get married 'cause there's nothing else to do". Divorce rates in my country are plunging - and I just know it's because first time losers are finding things to do.

Excellent job in describing the current situation with gas prices, Amy. Now if only everyone would at least apply a middling amount of thought, they would see there is not much that either political party, regardless of their rhetoric, can do about the situation.

Amy, you truly are an interesting and unique writer. If you ever write an autobiography I want to know about it. I am sure you're aware of all the online self-publishing opportunities available. I would think it's now feasible to write an autobiography for just a few hundred readers, thousands or tens of thousands without the costs associated without the risks associated with meeting a minimal readership.

lol @ exploitation and Dad. Most people my age can remember the times when TVs didn't have remotes. In my house my dad always had a remote. Usually the closest kid to the TV! It gets worse. He would call out "who's home?". It was the 1960s, you had to answer - and yes, he wanted you to come change the TV station!

On the Zuckerman thing. I run a small 50+ member euchre club in Toronto. FB has been invaluable as a tool to keep in contact with members and posting special events. It was annoying at first with all the "I had a bagel for lunch" posts and updates etc, but once I figured out how to change private and notification settings from the default settings I can use it as though I am my own parallel FB universe.
