My 1st table at Aussie Millions, Erick Lindgren walked to table to pay Nordberg money owed (I think from piece of $100k buyin), and Nordberg just eyed thickness of green bills along with 2 chips I'd never seen before saying "that looks right". SOmeone busted and asked to borrow a buyin for next day's tournament, TMay said he could loan but money was in room and Nordberg volunteered loan.

That was my 1st exposure to the large sums that transfer in such a trivial manner amongst the poker pros.

I also have no debt but that is mainly because I declared myself bankrupt nearly four years ago with crippling, non-gambling, debts.

I now value money a little too much I think and this too hinders me progressing through the stakes as I see my chips as money and losses in terms of "that would have bought XXXX" or whatever.

You're just ahead of your time Amy. I believe the present generation will adjust their thinking to agree with you.

As another with no debt (and that includes no mortgage) I chuckle at how the American public has been taught that it is normal for them to spend over half their income servicing debt.

BTW I love your "Stock of the Month" newsletter I found on streetauthority.com
