Breeders, Chips, and Winners

Ladies UPC

I’ve been down for the count ever since returning from Vegas.  Recirculating airline air and playing poker are the two likely candidates for my current flu battle.  Everyone I talk to blames the Women’s UPC event.  Apparently Women’s events are the equivalent of germ warfare, as the stereotypical mother gets more of the germy duties with the kids and passes it along with their chips.  If true, germs are the only thing I walked away from at the UPC.  Yes, I finished just one off the money (again).  You can read about why I came to terms with my bubble finish differently this time, here.

And by now, thanks to the many bloggers out there, you’re probably caught up with the latest on the WSOP extra chips update - or what I’ve started to call the “Six Months, but Who’s Counting” account.  Of course with all the UIGEA related shoes falling and rumors swirling, it is hard to stay focussed.  Even John Caldwell gave readers permission to wallow in Brandi related threads after the debunking of the Doyle arrest rumor.  I suspect it was the first time “POB” (Penis On Back) was used on the front page of PokerNews.com.

And for a few gratuitous photos, I thought I’d throw up another of the talented Mr. Edler (above) who I already featured in Pros You Should Know, as he just finished first in the Heads Up Challenge at the Crystal Park Casino.  And speaking of Heads Up, Marco Traniello (below) recently won the NBC Heads Up Qualifier at Caesars to nail his spot in the 64 person field.

I promise to write more once my NyQuil haze lifts…
