Crowded House, Poker’s Loss, and Pics

Old Woman in the Shoe

There was a time when PokerWorks was the solitary blogger abode of Table Tango’s author and poker dealer Linda Geenen.  If she was lonely, she is lonely no more.  Michael Craig, the author of The Professor, The Banker and The Suicide King set up shop there about a month ago.  And at the beginning of the month, CC also moved his Quest of a Closet Poker Player into Pokerworks lock, stock, and smokin’ barrel.  I’m thinking that it is getting down right cozy over there.

Speaking of moves, one of my very own poker boyz, the Poker Shrink, just posted his inaugural regular columnas” the Poker Shrink over at PokerNews.  Jen Leo and I thought tag teaming on a blog during the WSOP would be a blast - and it was.  We’ve decided to keep Breakfast Club Poker kickin’ around.

Paul Hannum

If you never got the chance to work with Paul Hannum, you lost an incredible opportunity when the WPT cameraman and photographer died unexpectedly August 3rd.  If there was a more genuine, talented professional in the industry, I’m unaware.  Paul is survived by his fiancee Sarah and their unborn daughter, due in October.

If you did know Paul, you’ll want to visit this site.  Also be aware that Gavin Smith will be hosting a $1000 buy-in charity tournament at the Bike on August 29th where all the proceeds will go to Sarah and the baby.

I know this community and I know we will help Paul’s family out in any way we can.

Doyle and Marsha

I have a thousand pictures from the WSOP, so I thought if I posted a few every day, I’d use them up by the next WSOP. (Doyle Brunson and Marsha Wagonner pictured above)

  1. Thanks for the shoutout, Amy, and it was great meeting you. Always a big fan. Take care.

  2. […] Well crack open the beer, pour yourself one, and change your links; Iggy lives.  It seems we won’t be toasting Iggy’s demise in Vegas next month.  We’ll be toasting to new a new beginning and hopefully on Iggy’s tab.  I’ve got to say, I think that PokerWorks “gets it.”  They’ve been building up their blog family nicely over the last year, but they needed a patriarch.  When they added Micheal Craig, it was more like taking in a crazy uncle than a father.  But now with Iggy, I feel like their family unit is somehow more complete.  […]
