Something is afoot in the poker blogishpere.  First I noticed that Maudie made a veiled reference to some ”New Year’s announcements.”  I then popped over to The Obituarium where Mr. Speaker mentioned something about a “new chapter” and opportunities in the New Year.  We know from previous posts that along with her Vegas tattoo, Maudie had a “secret” mission in Vegas.  She claims she was not able to execute on her mysterious agenda; I’m not sure I believe her.  

Questions:

Is it possible that Maudie’s and Mr. Speaker’s announcements are linked?

Is it possible that Maudie and Mr. Speaker got hitched in Vegas by a marrying Elvis?

If I had an announcement, would there be speculations that a blogger threesome was in play?

If another woman blogger had an announcement would there be rumors of a blogger orgy and fears that Mr. Speaker’s health was at risk?

For many of my colleagues, 2006 was a proverbial kick in the junk.  And in all honesty, some of my dreams caught a few body blows as the full impact of the year made itself known.  And strangely enough, losing a dream is sometimes harder to face than the reality behind it.  Obtuse, I know.  Suffice it to say that I still feel lucky to have the choices and chances I do.  In the end, I’ve made my bed and will find a way to sleep in it.  And at my age, I’ve realized security is a myth that shouldn’t be sacrificed for.   If I had any doubts, this was my fortune cookie this week : “A ship in harbor is safe, but that’s not why ships are built.”
