The cheapo cancellation headphones I got are pretty nice. I'll have to try and figure out who makes them. The Bose have both open ear - more comfortable - and closed ear - cancels more ambient noise - but you might get sweaty ears. UUggghhh. Sennheiser have good noise cancelation at half the price.
